Born in Madrid in 1983, Andrés Salado is one of the most promising Spanish conductors. He began his musical training playing the piano, the baroque flute and the violin, and finally opted for percussion, he obtained this title at the Real Conservatorio Superior de Música de Madrid.
He later became attracted by the orchestral field due to his interventions in many orchestras such as the Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, or the ORCAM, amongst others, and finally decided to start his studies in orchestral conduction. He has learned with maestros such as Miguel Romea, Peter Rundell, José Miguel Pérez Sierra, Jorma Panula, Sandro Gorli, Peter Gülke, Peter Eötvös and Antoni Ros Marbà.
He has conducted, among others, the Divertimento Ensemble, Orquesta Sinfónica de Oporto “Casa da Musica”, Orquesta Joven de Extremadura, S’ensemble, Joven Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Joven Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra, Salzburg Chamber Soloists at the Mozarteum Sommerakademie and the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra with Peter Eötvös during the Lucerne Festival 2012. He has also conducted the JONDE at the International conduction meeting made by Maestro Lutz Köhler.
He has performed at prestigious theatres and auditoriums such as the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico, Teatro Dal Verme in Milan or the KKL Luzern in Switzerland.
Among his recent and future engagements we can highlight the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, Oviedo Filarmonía, Orquesta Sinfónica de Tenerife, Orquesta Sinfónica de Bilbao, Real Orquesta Sinfónica de Sevilla, Orquesta Sinfónica de RTVE, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de México, Orquesta de la Comunidad de Madrid, Orquesta Nacional de España, Orquesta Sinfónica de Euskadi, Orquesta Sinfónica de Galicia, Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Colombia, Orquesta de Castilla y León, Orquesta Sinfónica de Madrid and several engagements with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Cataluña
He is Principal Conductor and Artistic Director of the Joven Orquesta de Extremadura and of the orchestra Opus 23. Andrés Salado is teaching at CSMCLM and Alfonso X El Sabio University.
He was resident conductor in 2015 at Wien Staatsoper, Austria.
Recently winner of “Fundación Princesa de Girona” Prize of Arts and Letters 2016.
